Position Overview:

We are recruiting a seasoned Employment Attorney with at least 6+ years of experience to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in employment law and a proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services to business clients. Your comprehensive legal background, exemplary research capabilities, and exceptional communication skills will be pivotal in handling a diverse range of employment-related legal matters. In this role, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the success of our clients by providing strategic legal counsel and representation in all areas of employment law.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide comprehensive legal advice and strategic planning for clients on a wide array of employment law matters, including workplace policies, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws.

Policy Development: Assist clients in developing and implementing effective workplace policies and employee handbooks that comply with federal, state, and local laws.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in employment-related disputes, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims, through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure clients adhere to all relevant employment laws and regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for clients on various employment law topics, such as anti-harassment, diversity and inclusion, and best practices for managing employee relations.

Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including employment contracts, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, and confidentiality agreements.

Investigations: Conduct internal investigations into allegations of workplace misconduct, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.

Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks in clients’ employment practices and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.

Client Advocacy: Act as a staunch advocate for clients’ interests in all employment law matters, maintaining a strong commitment to ethical and effective representation.

Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of changes in employment law and industry trends to provide clients with the most current and forward-thinking legal advice.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within the firm to deliver cohesive and comprehensive legal services to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the state bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in employment law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Proven expertise in employment litigation, regulatory compliance, and workplace policy development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
