Position Overview:
We are recruiting a seasoned Estate Attorney with at least 10 years of experience to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in estate planning and a proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services to clients. Your comprehensive legal background, exemplary research capabilities, and exceptional communication skills will be pivotal in handling a diverse range of estate-related legal matters. In this role, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the success of our clients by providing strategic legal counsel and representation in all areas of estate law.
Key Responsibilities:
Estate Planning: Provide comprehensive legal advice and strategic planning for clients on estate matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced healthcare directives.
Wealth Management: Develop and implement effective estate strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure the smooth transfer of assets.
Probate Administration: Assist clients with the probate process, including filing necessary documents, managing estate assets, and resolving disputes.
Trust Administration: Advise clients on trust creation, management, and administration to meet their estate planning goals.
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in estate law and provide clients with the most current and forward-thinking legal advice.
Client Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed about estate strategies, legal requirements, and case progress.
Document Drafting: Draft and review estate-related legal documents, including wills, trusts, and estate plans with precision and attention to detail.
Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks in clients’ estate plans and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
Client Advocacy: Act as a staunch advocate for clients’ interests in all estate-related legal matters, maintaining a strong commitment to ethical and effective representation.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in estate laws and industry trends to provide clients with the most current and forward-thinking legal advice.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys, accountants, and support staff within the firm to deliver cohesive and comprehensive legal services to clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in estate law, preferably in a law firm setting.
- Proven expertise in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
